This unique summer camp brings STEAM to life! An outdoor day camp, campers journey to distant lands, without ever leaving San Jose! Santa Clara County Parks locations become backdrop to imaginative lore, driven by engaging session themes and activities. Integrated kinetic, social-emotional learning keeps the 'whole child' in mind, while visual/performing arts make lessons easy to learn. Cast off on an unforgettable summer of fun, that also keeps you ready to return to school in the fall.

IT'S SUMMER AND SCHOOL IS OUT! As an educator, I wanted to created something that merged an authentic learning experience with authentic fun. With the power of imagination and whole child learning, this camp offers left to right brain stimuli, where campers LIVE the lessons they learn. Primed with inquiry and critical thinking, campers experience a spectrum of STEAM activities and associate themes related to earth science, astronomy, computer science, and more!

MONDAY - FRIDAY (*June 19 and *July 4 observed as federal holidays and no camp)

TEEN MENTORSHIP!

Hey, Parents!
Do you have a teen (ages 14-18) that needs a productive way to spend their time this summer? We are looking for Teen Mentors to help support camp activities. No prior STEAM experience necessary.

This opportunity focuses on important values for those preparing for young adulthood. Teen Mentors can expect to receive VALUABLE lessons in responsibility, growth mindset, integrity, empathy, communication, and leadership.

At the end of program, Teen Mentors receive a Certificate of Completion and Letter of Recommendation for future job or college applications.

SUMMER CAMP SESSIONS!

Session 1

Jurassic Park!
June 9- June 20

Campers explore earth science-based curriculum with a dinosaur theme. Park location helps shape an atmosphere of imagination and participation. Sample "expeditions": bone digs, plate tectonics, and geodes!

Session 2

The Wild Robot!
June 23- July 3

Computer science meets nature in this session inspired by the recent film. Campers have fun learning introductory concepts like "Design Thinking". With sacred geometry as a foundation, campers explore a range of activities that lead to the LEGO Algorithm Team Challenge!

Session 3

Skeleton Crew!
July 7- July 17

Star Wars moons and planets are imaginative playgrounds in this team-oriented, space, and living physics exploration. The outdoor park location creates a cosmic atmosphere, as campers launch questions into unforgettable experiments. Grab your crew (or make a new one) and set to the stars!

Session 4

The Magic School Bus!
July 21- Aug. 1

Have you ever wanted to join The Frizz on one of her magical journeys? Now you get to! Come take a ride on this Magic School Bus inspired camp session where Ms. Frizzle comes to life in Taryn The Human! Creative and artsy, lessons are hands-on, immersive, and fun!

Session 5

Mystery Science Theater!

Aug. 4- Aug. 15

Step into the roles of Leonardo DaVinci or Wilbur and Orville Wright! Which flight design is better and why? What experiments led to humanity's greatest achievements? Taken to the intersections of science and history, campers wonder widely and deeply. Inspired by impactful scientists, inventors, & innovators, campers consider how to design and build upon modern day inventions.
